Area Info, activities & links Waterfalls & Parks: Lakes:
Clemson University is 8 miles down the road where the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts brings in theatre and music from around the world. Plus the Clemson Tigers are fun to cheer for, whether for football, basketball or baseball! Seasons Some people move to this area to escape harsher winter climates up north and some people come from Florida to escape congestion but everyone seems to agree that the beauty of four seasons is one of Oconee County’s main attractions. Springtime is dazzling when the azaleas, rhododendrons and mountain laurel bloom and summer offers great lake activities. ![]() Fall colors have to be seen to be believed, and winter bring enough cool nights (average low in January is 31) to give reason for a fire and hot chocolate, without having to shovel lots of snow! People The mix of people is nothing short of delightful. There are native South Carolinians, but they are mixed in with people from New York, Virginia, Florida, Michigan, California, Minnesota – you get the picture. And they’re not all retired! Many have moved their businesses here and are enjoying the growth this area is experiencing. The area’s cultural diversity makes this a wonderful place to call home. There are so many reasons to consider the Lake Keowee area. Call or email Greg Bondar for a free information packet and a tour of Lake Keowee by boat and/or by car. You’ll be glad you did.
